Square

In-person card and supported digital-wallet transactions may be processed through Square. Square may process payment, transaction, product, receipt, fraud-prevention, and related information necessary to provide its services. Cash and Zelle Transactions

For qualifying cash or Zelle transactions, we may record limited transaction information needed for sales, inventory, tax, accounting, returns, and customer-service purposes. Zelle payments are processed through the participating financial institutions and services involved in that transaction. We do not receive or control all information processed independently by those financial institutions.

Cloudflare and Order Management

We use Cloudflare infrastructure to host portions of the website and to operate website, security, analytics, and order-management functions. Direct-sale information may be stored and processed within the Abby order-management system using Cloudflare infrastructure. This may include information such as:

Books may also be available through Amazon. Amazon purchases are transactions between the customer and Amazon under Amazon's applicable policies and practices. We do not receive Amazon customers' individual checkout, payment-card, or shipping information through KDP reporting. We may use aggregated or transactional KDP publishing reports for internal sales, royalty, accounting, and business-performance records.

Shipping Providers

Information reasonably necessary to fulfill a shipment may be provided to the United States Postal Service or another shipping carrier.

This may include:

  • recipient name;
  • delivery address;
  • shipment information; and
  • other information necessary to create, deliver, or track a shipment.

Transactional Email

We may send email necessary to administer a transaction, including:

  • order confirmation;
  • shipping confirmation;
  • tracking;
  • delay notices;
  • cancellation;
  • refund information;
  • return communications; and
  • customer-service responses. A customer does not become enrolled in Abby marketing email solely because the customer makes a purchase.

Marketing Email

Adults may separately and voluntarily subscribe to Abby news, activities, offers, or other marketing communications. Marketing communications will include an appropriate way to unsubscribe. Declining or canceling marketing email does not prevent necessary transactional communications relating to an order or customer-service matter.

Cookies and Analytics

The website may use cookies and similar technologies for legitimate purposes such as:

  • website operation;
  • security;
  • checkout;
  • fraud prevention;
  • remembering preferences where applicable;
  • internal analytics;
  • traffic measurement; and
  • campaign-performance measurement. Any advertising, behavioral tracking, or other technology requiring additional notice, consent, or choice under applicable law will be implemented only with the required safeguards.

How We Share Information

Personal information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to service providers that help us operate the business, including:

  • payment processors;

  • analytics providers;
  • tax or accounting providers; and
  • professional advisers. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, court order, governmental request, or to protect rights, safety, property, security, or prevent fraud. We do not sell personal information for money. If future practices constitute a regulated "sale," "sharing," targeted advertising, or similar activity under applicable privacy law, we will provide notices and choices required by applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for purposes including:

  • fulfilling orders;
  • providing customer service;

  • administering refunds or disputes;
  • maintaining necessary business records;
  • preventing fraud;
  • enforcing agreements; and
  • complying with applicable law. Different types of information may be retained for different periods. We seek to avoid retaining personal information longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information. Payment-card information is handled through third-party payment processors rather than intentionally stored in the Abby order-management database. No website, payment system, transmission method, or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Although The Adventures of Abby the Tabby books, characters, and website content are created for children and families, the commercial portions of the website - including checkout, payment, customer-service forms, personalization forms, and marketing signup - are intended to be completed by adults. We do not knowingly request that children under age 13 independently submit personal information through purchasing, customer-service, personalization, or marketing forms. If we learn that personal information was collected directly from a child under 13 in circumstances where it should not have been collected, we will take reasonable steps to address and delete the information as appropriate. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information may contact theadventuresofabbythetabby@hotmail.com.

Privacy Rights

Depending upon applicable law and where a person resides, the individual may have rights concerning personal information, which may include rights to:

  • request access to certain information;
  • request correction;
  • request deletion;
  • obtain information concerning certain disclosures; or
  • opt out of certain marketing or data-use practices. Requests may be submitted to theadventuresofabbythetabby@hotmail.com. We may take reasonable steps to verify a request before acting on it.

External Websites

The website may link to independent third-party services such as:

  • Amazon;
  • social-media platforms;
  • Stripe;
  • Square; and
  • other external websites. Those parties operate under their own privacy practices and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party websites and services.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as the website, direct-sales program, technology, service providers, products, or legal requirements change. The revised effective date will be displayed at the beginning of the policy.
